Health effects get averaged into regional statistics, so no community sees its own numbers. → influisce su? → The companies keep their reports vague and hide the worst releases, so we don't know what's hurting us.
<y, n or a>
I have watched health statistics aggregated, so specific families never appear as identifiable.
I know at first hand that aggregated regional statistics exist independently of company reporting practice — the averaging is done by analysts like me on whatever data exists. Companies being vague might worsen data quality, but it is not what produces the fractional-lives aggregation in A.
I have seen that companies keep reports vague, but that does not directly affect how health data is aggregated.
A is about regional statistics hiding local numbers; B is about companies burying data in vague reports. One is a statistical aggregation problem, the other is corporate reporting behavior. A does not cause or significantly shape B.
In permitting meetings, I see the company use regional aggregate data to argue that local impacts are negligible, which directly supports their strategy of vague reporting to avoid specific liability.
I don't see how the two are connected, but I do know that the reports are vague and I have to keep the plant running, even when the scrubber maintenance happens at 3am.
I have seen that the average factors in my own emissions reports allow large companies to hide their actual releases.
