Nobody ever shows us the permit or tells us what's in the water, so we can't connect it to our sickness. → utiče na? → I know the 'safe' number I'm writing into law was never meant to protect the people living near the plant.
I have seen the permit access protocols and legislative drafting processes handled in separate departments.
I have seen permits withheld.
I have seen the internal cost-benefit memos where we discuss setting standards that are feasible for the plants to meet without hurting earnings.
I have no direct knowledge of this situation.
The author does not provide any concrete evidence or personal observation that would allow a judgment of influence.

From where I sit, what a legislator knows when writing law is outside anything I've witnessed.
As an inspector, I've seen that the lack of transparency about permits and water test results makes it difficult for people to connect their health problems to the plant's emissions.
A describes a lack of information access (permits, water tests not shared), while B describes a rule threshold designed around plant affordability rather than health. These are two distinct failures — one of transparency, one of standard-setting — and neither directly causes the other.
From the riverbank, I've seen permits never shared; when they aren't shown, the 'safe' numbers that were never meant to protect us slide by unchallenged. That's the cycle I've lived: hide the data, set the weak standard.
moderator I was in the room when the plant's lawyers set the threshold to what they could afford — that knowledge is mine, not something the community's lack of permit access gives me.
