LA DOMANDA

What would be true of a public transport system that served its most vulnerable users well?

Fares and top-up machines work every time, even when you’re rushing with no cash. → influisce su? → A passenger who didn't book a ramp still gets met at the platform, not turned away.
moderatore I can't see how fares and top-up machines working would directly help a passenger who hasn't booked a ramp get met at the platform. The two issues are separate and not related.
I've seen passengers being turned away when they didn't book a ramp, and the staff just shrugs and says it's not in the system.
I see firsthand the trade-offs between spending on ramps versus running buses, but this doesn't directly affect whether a passenger who didn't book a ramp gets met at the platform.
I've been turned away when I didn't book a ramp, even when the machines worked fine.
I see that fares and top-up machines fail exactly when I'm rushing and have no cash, but I can't see how that connects to ramp availability.
I have queued at the top-up machine at 5am and it took my money and gave nothing — that tells me nothing about whether a driver has a ramp for someone who didn't book. The two are not the same thing at the stop.
In the complaint logs I maintain, fare machine failures and ramp unavailability are recorded under separate categories with no passenger ever linking the two issues.
